AIREVIA · PRACTICAL GUIDANCE

Building communities, rentals and permissions: checks before installation

A technically possible installation is not automatically permitted on every façade, balcony or courtyard. This general guidance does not replace reviewing the particular case.

Location and authorisation

Before commissioning penetrations or an outdoor unit, check building and municipal requirements for the address. Façades, courtyards and common elements may require checks or permission. Consider location, noise and drainage together. Other neighbours having equipment is not a universal answer about whether a new installation is allowed.

Who pays in rented housing

Responsibility cannot be decided solely by who uses the remote. Spain's tenancy law distinguishes conservation, attributable damage and small repairs from ordinary use; cause and circumstances matter. Notify the landlord before commissioning unagreed work, document symptoms and obtain scope approval. Seek appropriate advice if responsibility is disputed.

Professionals and documentation

For work subject to refrigerant and climate-control requirements, request applicable credentials and intervention records. Obligations depend on equipment and operation; consult current official sources. Keep the quotation, acceptance and handover documents. AIREVIA does not present this guide as municipal permission or a ruling on contractual responsibility.
